Hello, I'm So Wing Lum, Winnie. I am currently a high school senior who is passionate about death education.

Ever since I was a child, I was curious about the word "death". I thought that this word is abstract that has so many unknown possibilities but no one in my family or school talked about the concept behind this word. During the pandemic, I saw from the news that many people were suffering from the unexpected death of their loved ones. Physicians and nurses were struggling to process the loss of their patients and the helpless feeling. After seeing all these scenes, it reminded me of my personal struggle as my grandpa has passed away when I was young. I understood the uncertainty and the sense of grief that went into processing the loss and I would like to provide support to people that share similar struggles. Thus I would like to know more about death, including the process of death, the meaning of death, the physical and psychological process when one experiences death. The most important part that sparks this project are that how can death improve life.

There are two major goals for this website:
-
Through the power of art, raise awareness and open up conversations related to death and dying, grief and loss
-
From learning more about death and embracing the fact that we all die someday, to learning to treasure our lives and live to the fullest
Thank you for being interested in my project!
This is an image of myself,
So Wing Lum.
